Today I was invited by the lovely Michal from 58 rooms to come and experience a Cryo Facial at All Bright. She knows I am passionate about wellbeing and gave me the chance to experience something new.
I was a tad sceptical and wondered if sticking my head in a freezer for 5 mins would give the same effect but went along intrigued. Lauren who gave me the treatment is lovely, with some good chat so that was a seriously good start. I wanted to hear more about the benefits of chilling my face particularly as I have a friend who is passionate about the Wimhof method and regularly talks about the joys of a cold shower. Note to self, must get her to write a blog for here and do a Meet the WoMos interview.
So what are the benefits? Apparently a cryo facial stimulates blood flow and cell regeneration in the skin. Ok, I was signed up already. It also tightens the skin, reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. At this point I was hoping to leave looking 10 years younger. In addition the chilliness minimises the visibility of pores, and boosting collagen production.
I have to totally honest and open, I felt wonderful. My face felt zingy and I looked like I was glowing. I think the added benefit of 15 minutes sat in a chair, with good chat and ONLY focusing on me contributed to the feeling of joy. How often do we actually just do that for ourselves? Not enough as a busy WoMo.
Lauren is in London giving treatments at All Bright on Maddox St. Do get along to see her before December 20th if you are London based. She will be back in the new year too or if you are LA based you can go and see her at Cryo Cafe. Failing that, just make sure you give yourself 10 mins of total you time. Away from the kids, away from work, just do something for you. It’s worth it!
