Visiting City Harvest, London

City Harvest crossed my radar via a WoMo client that supports the charity. The charity reached peak level busyness during the pandemic, and they have grown enormously and recruited a new Head of People. Wanting to help with all things people, I followed up with Co-Founder Laura and went for a visit to their warehouse in West London.

The logistics will blow you away. They have a dedicated ops team that coordinate where the food can be collected from, and direct the vans to their pick up destinations. It then arrives into the warehouse, via one door, is sorted in the middle, and exits the other side of the warehouse in the right boxes to the right locations.

The food goes to 350+ charities including: children’s programmes, food banks, refuges for women fleeing domestic violence and families fleeing war-torn countries, and local groups across London welcoming the elderly and isolated.

I heard how one womens shelter supporting women and children who are hiding following domestic violence, receive a hot meal when they arrive, provided by City Harvest.

City Harvest is a charity, and they rely on not just food donations, but financial donations too. £10 means the charity can deliver 40 meals. Every little bit helps them keep the magic on the road to feel those who are hungry. You can click here to donate.

The charity we commit to supporting via the sales of our merchandise is Refuge. To hear how City Harvest support women who have experienced donestic violence touched my heart. Whether it is women, or children or anyone, City Harvest and making a real impact. Thank you for helping the work they do in London.

We’ll be giving them a helping hand here at WoMo HQ. We hope you can too.
